The Canadian Award of Merit for Conformation
In 1987 the AMCC approved the institution of the Canadian Award of Merit (CAM)to recognize kennels who were producing quality dogs. The CAM recognizes top producing sires and dams based on based on offspring earning points which are credited to their particular sire and dam. All qualifying Malamutes will be recognized in the AMCC Malamute Review. Member owned qualifying Malamutes will automatically receive awards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
DAM: 10 points are required to be earned by the offspring of any female for her to qualify.
SIRE: 15 points are required to be earned by the offspring of any male for him to qualify.
Points are earned in accordance with the following scale:
One (1) point for any Mal finishing its Canadian Championship.
Two (2) points for any Mal winning a Group placing or Specialty Best of Breed.
Three (3) points for any Mal winning multiple (two or more) Group placings, multiple Specialty (not Boosters) Best of Breed wins, or any combination thereof.
Four (4) points for any Mal winning one or more All Breed - Best in Show
A dog/bitch must finish its Canadian Championship before any points are credited to the particular sire and dam. Each step on the scale represents total points, for example, a Champion that wins a Group 4 for his first Group placing would go from one point to two points total, not one point plus two points. Therefore, the maximum any one offspring can accumulate for their sire/dam is four points.
