While Flyball would not be a common sport for an Alaskan Malamute, some dogs have excelled at it. It's a team sport around only since the 1970s. Flyball is akin to a relay race. Four dogs on a team run a course which consists of a beginning, four hurdles and a box. The dogs run back and forth, jumping hurdles, grabbing a tennis ball from the end and returning, while again, jumping over the hurdles, with it. Each dog has a turn, on each team and the fastest team wins.
