Obedience
While the Alaskan Malamute is not generally known for its' capacity with obedience, there are certainly some specimens of the breed who excel in obedience competitions. Obedience trials use basic commands most pet dogs would know, but in a formal, structured competition. The dog is command to obey tasks such as sit, down, heel, stay and in some cases, off-lead. There are usually several dogs competing together, at varying levels of difficulty, and how they sit, down or heel, are marked as well as whether or not they perform the command
