Questions to ask prospective buyers

Breeders are responsible for screening prospective puppy owners to ensure they have the experience and skills required to care for an Alaskan Malamute.

QUESTIONS YOU MAY CONSIDER ASKING POTENTIAL PUPPY BUYERS

Do you own, or have you owned, other dogs? 
- What breeds? 
- How many? 

Are you familiar with large dogs? 

Are you familiar with Malamutes?

Do you want a dog or bitch? 
- Why? 

Do you live in a house or apartment? 

How much yard space do you have? 
- Do you have a kennel? 
- Is your yard fenced? 

Do you have children? 
- How many?
- Ages? 

How many hours a day will the dog be left alone? 

Will the dog be kept inside?
- Outside?
- Both?
- Day or Night? 

Can the breeder to visit you before you purchase a dog? 
- After the purchase?
